If you are a Project Management professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  The team is based in our Knoxville, TN location, however they are open to a remote work arrangement for the right candidate.  In this role, you will support efforts with customers and internal teams to develop solutions based on individual customer requirements utilizing the Emerson Reliability Solutions (RS) portfolio and related products.  You will be familiar with the application of various RS portfolio offerings and be able to formulate a strategy that connects the customer requirements with available technologies.  You will possess industry and technology acumen and be familiar with business systems (IT) and plant or field operations environment (OT) and can connect these environments to form the overall systems architecture.  You will collaborate with RS Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Proposals, Support, and Services to ensure that proposed solutions are optimized for each customer.  You will also apply your knowledge and expertise in engineering methodologies to act as a technical lead for local teams, participate on global teams, and mentor less experienced engineers and technicians. 

AS A RELIABILITY SYSTEMS SOLUTION ARCHITECT, YOU WILL: 

Sales Support

  • Be the technical reference for pursuits, providing technical expertise, input into proposal generation and resource estimation, assessments of commercial and technical risk associated with potential work
  • Create continuity between sales and execution processes by ensuring a common understanding of requirements between client, sales, and execution teams
  • Present technology or solutions during customer/sales events or seminars

Project Execution and Support

  • Support and execute projects and services that involve technologies within the RS portfolio (AMS Machine Works, AMS Machinery Manager, AMS Device Manager, Plantweb Optics, etc.), leading or coordinating activities related to these when appropriate
  • Be the adviser for project execution, highlighting the most appropriate solution within the Emerson portfolio or third-party offerings, where necessary
  • Coordinate internal knowledge transfer through update meetings or workshops with the RS North America Systems Engineering and Services team
  • Participate in and lead client support activities (surveillance visits, problem solving/ support call resolution, system modifications and training)

Process, Product & Solution Improvement

  • Identify possible improvements to the Emerson products used, as well as the sales and project execution processes
  • Assist in defining standard solutions to improve effectiveness and implementation capability

Business Development

  • As the need arises develop and maintain relationships with key third parties, such as vendors of complementary technologies, standards organizations, or technology communities

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • A minimum of 6 years demonstrated experience in our industry (Automation, DCS, and field implementation, etc.)
  • Detailed technical knowledge in one or more specific technology areas
  • Extensive experience with direct client contact and managing expectations
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel for shorter periods (up to 25%)
  • Ability to write professional technical documents
  • Ability to take direction from multiple sources (projects and manager) while self-controlling and organizing work load
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  
  • 10 years experience in our industry (Automation, DCS, and field implementation, etc.)
  • Microsoft Networking Certification
